Nigerian indigenous rapper, Oladapo Olaitan Olaonipekun, popularly known as Dagrin, 10 years ago died after getting involved in an accident in Lagos.
The rapper’s songs centered around the the ghetto lifestyle, the struggle of the less privileged and the oppression of the government.
He sang songs like ‘Democracy’, ‘Thank God’, and ‘Pon Pon Pon’.
Dagrin, in 2009 released his album “C.E.O.” meaning “Chief Executive Omoita”. A track from the album “Pon Pon Pon” got nominated for the Nigerian Entertainment Award for Best Album (C.E.O.), Hottest Single, Best Rap Act and Best Collaboration with vocals, in 2010.
