Ali Bukar Dalori has officially taken over as the acting National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), following the resignation of Abdullahi Ganduje from the party’s top position.
Dalori’s appointment was confirmed on Monday during a meeting with the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), where he pledged to uphold transparency, unity, and inclusive leadership.
Speaking at the party’s national headquarters, Dalori expressed gratitude for the confidence placed in him, describing his new role as “a responsibility accepted with humility, loyalty, and a deep sense of duty.”
He noted that his emergence followed the resignation of Dr. Ganduje and in line with directives from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Dalori paid tribute to his predecessor, acknowledging Ganduje’s contributions since taking office in August 2023.
“We are all aware of the significant contributions Dr. Ganduje made during his tenure,” Dalori said. “He provided our party with experienced leadership, steadfast commitment, and a clear sense of direction. We wish him full recovery and strength as he focuses on his health and personal well-being.”
Positioning himself as a unifying figure, Dalori emphasized the need for the APC to consolidate its internal structures rather than allow personal ambition to stir division.
“This is a period for consolidation, not conflict. For maturity, not division. And for vision, not personal ambition,” he stated, urging all stakeholders to rally behind the party’s common goals.
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, Dalori stressed the importance of reconnecting with the grassroots and strengthening internal democratic processes.
He reiterated the party’s commitment to delivering on its promises to Nigerians under the leadership of President Tinubu.
In reaffirming his loyalty to the President, Dalori described Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda” as a strategic blueprint capable of addressing the nation’s pressing challenges.
“The APC remains the political vehicle to drive this transformation,” he said. “We will stand by the president in full loyalty and partnership.”
Dalori’s leadership begins at a pivotal time for the APC, as it seeks to rebuild public confidence and maintain cohesion ahead of future electoral contests.
