Thomas Partey Departs Arsenal as Contract Expires, Nørgaard Set to Join

Ghanaian midfielder, Thomas Partey has officially parted ways with Arsenal following the expiration of his contract, bringing an end to his five-year spell at the North London club.

The 32-year-old leaves as a free agent after joining the Gunners in 2020 from Atlético Madrid in a deal worth £45 million.

Partey made 116 appearances in all competitions for Arsenal, playing a key role in stabilising the midfield during his early years at the club.

However, injuries and inconsistency plagued his time at the Emirates, limiting his impact on the pitch.

After an agreement could not be made between the Ghanaian international and Arsenal, the club opted not to offer a contract extension, paving the way for his exit this summer.

His departure comes at a time when Arsenal are reshaping their midfield setup.

Brentford’s Christian Nørgaard is set to fill the void left by Partey, with a £15 million transfer already agreed between both clubs.
